QU301 South Africa Course Objectives

The aim of the course is to examine South Africa’s transition from Apartheid to current day.

Has South Africa become united?

What are some of the challenges that still need to be overcome?

As members of the Global Community, what can we do to make a difference?

During the semester, students will develop foundational knowledge as they are introduced to South Africa’s historical, cultural, and current challenges.

In South Africa, the class will spend some of its time exploring the progress of the post-Apartheid reconciliation in unifying South Africa’s formerly ethnically classified groups. A specific focus of the course will be gaining some insight on the racial and economic divide as they currently exist in the new socially unified Republic of South Africa.
